ShiftSum

Terms of use

Effective 18 October 2026

ShiftSum is run by Dr Omar Kirresh, Jerusalem, Israel ("we"). By using ShiftSum you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. Questions: hello@shiftsum.app.

The short version: your data is yours; ShiftSum is a tool, so check what it reads and shows before you rely on it; it's provided as it is, its features can change, and our liability is limited; the free plan is free and nothing is charged without your agreement; Pro is sold through Paddle, with 14 days to change your mind; keep your own backups; Israeli law, the courts of Jerusalem.

1. What ShiftSum is

ShiftSum records your shifts, works out what they pay, reads rotas and payslips for you, keeps your calendar and reminders, and, if you invoice in Israel and are invited to that part, makes your documents.

It's a tool to help you keep track. The pay, hours, holiday and currency figures it shows are worked out from what you enter, the rules you set and public lists, and they're estimates: your contract, your payslip and your employer's records are what count.

2. Your account

One account per person. Keep your sign-in to yourself; you're responsible for what's done with it. Tell us at hello@shiftsum.app if you think someone else has used it. You must be 16 or over.

3. Your data and your documents

Your data is yours. You give us only what's needed to store and process it to run the service for you, as the privacy policy describes. ShiftSum works from what you enter and approve: you're responsible for checking your shifts, hours and pay figures and the documents you issue, and for your own tax and employment matters. ShiftSum isn't tax, legal, accounting or employment advice, and a figure it shows is not a claim against your employer.

4. AI readings

Rotas, messages, receipts and payslips are read by AI and can be wrong or incomplete. ShiftSum shows you what it found before anything goes in; check it. Readings are limited to a fair monthly number shown in the app: the free plan includes your first rota import and one event scan, and Pro includes every rota and a monthly allowance of scans. We may lower a limit, or refuse readings that look automated or abusive.

5. Reminders, holidays and other services

Reminders, wake-up alarms, clash warnings and calendar feeds depend on your phone, its settings, battery and connection, and on other companies' services, so they can arrive late or not at all. Don't rely on ShiftSum alone where a missed or late reminder could cost you money or your job, affect your health or put anyone at risk.

Public holidays for countries we don't check by hand come from a public list and can be wrong or out of date; check them against your contract.

ShiftSum runs on other companies' services (listed in the privacy policy). We choose them with care, but we're not responsible for what they do or fail to do.

6. Fair use

Don't use ShiftSum to break the law, to issue false or misleading documents, to read documents you have no right to, to get into others' accounts, to get round the free plan's limits (several accounts for one person), or to overload or probe the service. Don't resell it.

ShiftSum is for your own shifts, pay and plans. Don't enter patients' or clients' details (names, ID numbers, diagnoses or results) in events, notes or photos: it isn't made to hold other people's health information, and what you enter about others is your responsibility.

7. Free and Pro

The free plan is free. A paid Pro plan is coming. When it opens, its price and what it includes will be shown in the app and on the site before you pay, and nothing is charged without your agreement.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it takes the payment, answers questions about it and handles refunds.

A subscription renews until you cancel; you can cancel at any time and keep Pro until the period you've paid for ends. You can ask for a refund within 14 days of any payment, as our refund policy explains, and your rights under consumer law always apply. We may change prices for future periods with notice in the app.

8. Changes to ShiftSum

ShiftSum keeps developing. We may add, change, limit or remove any feature, limit, plan or other part of it, including what the free plan includes, at any time and for any reason, with or without notice. Where a change takes away something you've already paid for, we'll tell you in the app before it applies, and you can cancel and get back the unused part of what you paid.

9. Availability and backups

ShiftSum is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we give no promise or warranty of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, that it will suit a particular purpose, or that it will keep working on your device. We may pause it for maintenance, security or reasons beyond our control.

Keep your own copies (Me → Download my data, or Export & backup if you invoice). If you invoice, the law asks you to keep your tax documents for seven years, and that duty is yours.

10. Liability

As far as the law allows, neither we nor anyone working with us is liable for any loss or damage, material or otherwise, direct, indirect or consequential, arising from using ShiftSum or being unable to use it. That includes lost pay, earnings or profit; a missed or late shift, appointment or reminder; a wrong figure; a tax penalty or interest; a document issued from wrong figures; lost or damaged data; and any decision made relying on ShiftSum.

Where we are liable despite this, our total liability for everything arising from ShiftSum is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50 if you paid nothing.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited (such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence), or rights you have as a consumer that can't be given up.

11. Claims about your use

If someone makes a claim against us because of how you used ShiftSum, a document you issued through it or your breach of these terms, you'll cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, as far as the law allows.

12. Ending

You can delete your account at any time (Me → Delete account). We may suspend, limit or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we need to protect ShiftSum, its users or ourselves, or the law requires it, telling you why where we can. We may close the service as a whole with at least 30 days' notice and time to export your data.

13. Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, the app will say so before the change applies; using ShiftSum after that is agreement to the new terms.

14. Law, and the rest

Israeli law applies, and the courts of Jerusalem have jurisdiction, without taking away protections the law of the country you live in gives you.

If a court finds part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we haven't given it up. We aren't responsible for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages at our providers, network failures, natural events, war or a government's act. We may transfer ShiftSum, with these terms, to someone who takes it on, and we'll tell you if we do. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about ShiftSum.

These terms are written in English. The Hebrew and Arabic texts are translations for your convenience, and the English applies if they differ.
